Gifts for Father's Day 0

About four weeks ago I was able to participate in the "Albuquerque Half" marathon.  For me it is a function of time; too many responsibilities, too much work, too many obligations and not enough time.  Now that I have all of my excuses out of the way and made public, I also have to tell you that my wife took them all away as well.  She said that I should have the same approach that I had when I was in the "Teams"; training (and competing) should be looked at as part of my job and not as a luxury.  Where would we be without those we love to show us what is right in front of ...

Medal Display Cases as Gifts for all Sports and Athletics 0

Just before Christmas I was contacted by a young lady named Lauren.  She inquired about getting a black "Addicted" case for her friend Casey as a present for Christmas.  It turned out that Lauren was young enough to be living at home with their parents but old enough to be creative in finding/asking for a little help from me.  Lauren described some of Casey's background and got permission from Casey's father to divulge her last name which allowed me to verify her accomplishments on the internet.  Casey's story is very similar to mine in that she ...

Marathon Medal Display Case as a gift 0

Recently I had a customer contact me about the medal display case she purchased as a gift for her father. She, Courtney R., pointed out that it was difficult to post a blog and picture of her father’s display and wanted to know if I would be able to help her achieve that. Here is Courtney’s post and pic:

“My dad is notoriously difficult to shop for. He has been running marathons for years, so when I saw In View Design’s display cases, I immediately thought of him. I purchased the Addicted Case for him as a Christmas gift, and he was truly excited to receive the ...

Believe it or not, we listen to what our customers are telling us. On several occasions we have been asked if we have color options for the display panels and we have not been able to provide an immediate option. Although we also thought of this before, it is challenging to integrate new options at the drop of a hat; material vendors + time + processes + photos + website upload = customer options and satisfaction.

Felt Color Choices

Our next step is to have studio quality photos taken and then integrate them into our website so that you, our customer, are able ...

The Perfect Gift for the Running Athlete in Your Life 0

This has been an amazing year for us in many ways. Our kids are healthy and happy, we have good friends and have made new, good, friends, and In View Design display cases has made a little progress. What we have found over the holidays however is that friends and family of the athlete care more about recognizing what they achieved more than they do about their own accomplishment(s). I suppose that this isn’t any surprise as the very first display case I created, now the ‘Love It’ case, was as a gift for my wife. When I retired from the Navy, I was given a shadow box showing ...

It was a very busy year…at least the last two months. We are currently putting together the last string of display cases for December's orders. We had inventory and parts in standby but did not anticipate the demand. I want to thank each and every one of our patrons for their patience and understanding in waiting to receive their display. I suppose that this is one of the pains with any business venture that has ‘feet'. We made every attempt to provide the most personalized customer service with each purchase and want to share some of their comments with you.

You're welcome ...

Sabbatical... of sorts 0

It has been awhile since my last blog. Stuff, you know, everything that gets in the way…some call it life. I had been preparing to run a marathon in October and started having problems with both of my calves ending up in a torn right calf muscle. Needless to say, I missed the race but did manage to get a rain-check on the entry fee for next year’s race. The “110%” calf supports I mentioned in the last blog are the reason I am able to run now; they are incredible!

During my down time I spent every spare moment creating memories with my kids. We went to the ...

After my last blog post I received advice from several people on how to address this setback and all suggested ice. Half-heartedly I stretched for about a week (without any ice; too inconvenient!) and then went for an easy jog. All was going well until my 10-foot high, bullet-proof ego suggested that I pick it up a little; wham! back to almost square one. Time is getting short until race day and I’m not trained well enough so time to come up with a best-case strategy to beat this ball and chain. First I got a massage specific to that calf (deep and painful!), began an Ibuprofen regime, ...

How do we get so busy... and does it really matter? 0

Somehow (since I have a display case business) I am in the ‘the hunt’ to do another marathon. I really didn’t want to commit openly until I felt things were going well…it’s been 10 years since my last. As it would turn out, things were going great! My times were surprisingly good, I felt amazingly good, just a little disappointed that my speed wasn’t like it was 10 or more years ago, and injury free. All was good until……

I pulled/strained my calf muscle this last weekend about a mile into an 18 mile run. $#%T! Now it’s that waiting ...
