A Medal Display Case as a Gift for Yourself 0

And so it comes full circle, time to motivate myself (yourself). A gift for the marathoner, cyclists, or triathlete that you are, can be more significant than you may realize. As my wife continues to run marathons and add to the number of achievements she has hanging in her medal display case, my motivation has been in a slump and the excuses were mounting. I have recently challenged myself in running two marathons by the end of this year. The first is the “Duke City” Marathon and then the “Las Vegas Rock n Roll” six weeks later. The motivation came from several things; watching my wife cross the finish line at her last race, reading the comments of skinnyrunner.com followers about the review she did on our display cases (I have no excuse) and mounting my own medals from years gone by in one of the IN VIEW DESIGNS medal display cases (it’s a little weak for me). When I look at the medals I don’t think of memories about sweating, chaffing, sore muscles, but most importantly, those effortless workouts that come around once in awhile where there just isn’t enough time or distance (nothing but fun!) and crossing the finish line on race day all come back.
PS. The Teddy Bear on the desk is my sons…no, really! ‘See you at the finish line
